echo f | xcopy.exe {server}netlogonextra.dat VIRUS
McAfee's DAT file version 5958 is causing widespread problems with Windows XP SP3. The affected systems will enter a reboot loop and loose all network access. We have individual reports of other versions of Windows being affected as well. However, only particular configurations of these versions appear affected. The bad DAT file may infect individual workstations as well as workstations connected to a domain. The use of ePolicyOrchestrator, which is used to update virus definitions across a network, appears to have lead to a faster spread of the bad DAT file. The ePolicyOrchestrator is used to update DAT files throughout enterprises. It can not be used to undo this bad signature because affected system will lose network.

Lyrids Meteor Shower april 2010
The shower on May 22, 687 BC (proleptic Julian calendar) was recorded in Zuo Zhuan, which describes the shower as “On day xīn-mǎo of month 4 in the summer (of year 7 of King Zhuang of Lu), at night, fixed stars are invisible, at midnight, stars dropped down like rain.
The Lyrids are a strong meteor shower lasting from April 16 to April 26 each year. The radiant of the meteor shower is located in the constellation Lyra, peaking at April 22—hence they are also called the Alpha Lyrids or April Lyrids. The source of the meteor shower is the periodic Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher. The Lyrids have been observed for the past 2600 years.
First a word about the moon — it is not your (the expectant meteor watcher’s) friend. Light reflecting off a bright moon can be just as detrimental to good meteor viewing as those bright lights of the big city. There is nothing you can do except howl at the moon, so you’ll have to put up with it or wait until the next favorable shower. Even though the 2010 Perseids and Geminids will share the night sky with the moon, they are still expected to produce more visible meteor activity than other major showers that don’t have an interfering moon.
It is not until after midnight that the earth is turned into the path of the comet, so if you go out early in the evening, you may see some meteors but not as many as you would later in the night. The best way to enjoy them is to throw a blanket on the ground and lie down so that you can see as much of the sky as possible. I plan to set my alarm for early morning to see if the skies are clear.
It’s the Lyrids! They will be here strongest between 1 and 3 in the morning. I probably won’t be getting up. It’s going to be cloudy here, and full of light pollution.

Facebook's f8 Live Keynote
The f8 Live 2010 Keynote took place in San Francisco today April 21, 2010. Nerds and web developers should all find great excitement with the new features and functionality that Facebook announced at f8 Live.
f8–the always growing convention for Facebook developers–is going on now, and a kicky little conference gizmo has speculation raging that Facebook is about to announce some sort of location-aware capability.
Everyone attending the show is getting RFID tags (including our own Dan Nosowitz), so that you can check into the various booths on site. That enrolls you on the event’s fanpage, so that you can follow it online through Facebook–getting all the details after, or announcing your real-time whereabouts on your profile page. But maybe the coolest part is a screen on the main hall that visualizes all the check-ins in (almost) real time. So while you can’t actually track people as they move, you can see where everyone’s congregating.
These features will definitely change every Facebook user’s online experience, and with over 400 million people you and your friends will be able to share the experience much easier!

iphone 4th generation the next iphone iphone 4g leaked
While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings:
What's new
• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic
What's changed
• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

VoIP free calls for iPhone
Unfurling the much-craved revelation two major VoIP service providers iCall and Fring updated their apps to support calls over 3G network. iPhone VoIP apps now offer calling over 3G network. Voice over IP applications for the iPhone are now able over cellular networks. It must be elating for iPhone freaks to have at least one app on the market that can make 3G VoIP phone calls. We went out exploring the implications of 3G VoIP phone calls for iPhone and it big-bro iPad.
The company announced in a press release declared that, it is the first and only VoIP application that functions on the iPhone and iPod touch over cellular 3G networks.
Formerly AT&T rejected voice data over its network, instead those applications could just place calls when using the iPhone's Wi-Fi connection. Last year in October, AT&T confirmed support for VoIP over 3G for the iPhone. But, the VoIP app were limited to Wi-Fi. With the app updates being approved by Apple, iPhone is all set for 3G VoIP free calls
Now that iPhone allows 3G VoIP calls, we could soon expect Skype working over 3G network. It is server-side app and it would soon be available for download in new version of Skype to get this functionality. According a spokesperson from Skype, as told Macworld, the company has a 3G-enabled version of its iPhone app ready, but waiting for Apple's approval. We could expect to see VoIP free calls with the new Skype app.
The app updates would also open new vistas for VoIP phone calls on Apple's much-hyped tablet - iPad that runs all the iPhone apps.

Free VoIP Calls on Your iPhone
Have you ever been sitting at home while making a call to someone only to find yourself hurrying up the conversation to save minutes? Or how about paying outrageous international roaming charges when travelling abroad? Now, wherever there’s a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can make ‘app to app’ calls for free.
You may wonder what ‘app to app’ means. Well, with VoIP calls there is no direct and easy way to make free calls from your iPhone to a cellular or landline. Doing so does costs money (albeit sometimes far less than using your cellular network), and each VoIP client has their own rates. But, if you wish to call someone who is already using Skype, Fring, or any of the other apps listed below, you can in fact do so for free.
Below are some of the most popular and widely used VoIP apps for the iPhone!
Skype
Skype is undoubtedly the most popular VoIP app of all. If you use Skype at home then it should definitely be on your iPhone or iPod touch. To make calls, simply select someone on your Skype contacts list and you’ll be talking in no time.
On top of voice calls, Skype for the iPhone also allows for chats just like the desktop app (it now allows for landscape chat mode). It also permits the user to set his or her status and profile information.
Skype
Skype
Skype also offers a range of subscriptions that make international calls remarkably inexpensive. You can either pay $5.95 per month to call unlimited landlines in one country of your choice, or $12.95 for any country in the world. A huge money saver if you would otherwise be paying network rates.
Fring
Fring is another popular mobile VoIP client and, aside from its own functionality, is great because it allows you to integrate other popular social outlets such as Skype, ICQ, Twitter and AIM. Fring provides an excellent way to keep most of your social networking and instant messaging all bundled in one app.
You can make free calls to any other VoIP, Fring or Skype user. Fring offers a special version for visually impaired users as well.
Fring
Fring
Truphone
Truphone is similar to Fring in that it integrates with other accounts you may have such as Twitter, but this is about it. Truephone, just like all of these VoIP apps, has its own contacts list from which you can freely call other Truephone users.
Truphone

iCall
iCall is another highly rated app that can be downloaded from the App Store. You can link your Facebook account which is nice. After the main start-up screen and accepting the user agreement, iCall will prompt you to select an account type. It offers a variety of accounts including a trial, free-use and paid use. iCall will then place a verification call and your account will be ready to go.

CallGlobal
CallGlobal is similar to iCall with its registration process. After it sets up your account and number, you may make CallGlobal to CallGlobal calls, VoIP calls and direct calls. CallGlobal to CallGlobal calls are free, while all other calls cost a certain rate per minute.

When to Use VoIP
Some of you may be asking, “Why would I ever need to make a VoIP call?” There are a few situations in which using VoIP would save the day (and a lot of money!).
First, when making an international call. For example, say I want to call my buddy in the UK. AT&T charges $1.29 per minute for a US to UK phone call. After chatting for a few minutes, this could get quite expensive. The solution? Ask my buddy to get on Skype (or Fring, etc. – you get the idea) from the convenience of his own desktop or iPhone and we can converse all day long, free of charge.
If asking someone go sign into their VoIP service seems unreasonable, the alternative is to purchase a call package from one of the above companies. It’s still likely to work out far cheaper than the standard network per-minute charge.
Another useful situation in which using VoIP would work well would be if you are somewhere that offers a connection to Wi-Fi and you want to save those expensive minutes for more necessary calls. If you have Wi-Fi at home, using VoIP on your iPhone could potentially save you hundreds of minutes.
Limitations
VoIP has some major limitations, first and foremost, being that a Wi-Fi connection is required. No 3G or GPRS network can be substituted for a Wi-Fi connection, and it isn’t possible to use any of these apps over your cellular data connection (unless you’re happy to jailbreak your iPhone first).
After you do have a Wi-Fi connection, then the problem of who you are calling is presented. Most of the apps listed above only permit free calling to others who are also using the same app. As time goes on, VoIP will become a more convenient way of calling friends and family.
Bonus Tip!
In my research, I did find one way to make free calls to commercial landines. To do so, call (I used Skype): 1-800-GOOG-411
This is Google’s free 411 service. I used it to look up a few local businesses and it proved to be reliable. Try it for yourself and let me know how it works!

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! Do you have a particular preference for one VoIP application, and would you consider jailbreaking your phone for access to these apps over a 3G connection?

Free GPRS For Facebook and Twitter
Talking about consistently changing the rules of the game. TataDoCoMo, which came into the limelight with their pay-per-second billing plans and marketing blitz, has now expanded its BuddyNet service to include free GPRS access to social networks Orkut, Facebook, Twitter and Nimbuzz, apart from professional networking site LinkedIn.Embedded applications and external URLs/Links will be charged at Re. 0.1/kb), and users will have to pay to subscribe to BuddyNet.
This initiative is in line with a similar move I’d suggest for 3G: that telecom operators should make GPRS access free for a limited in order to encourage GPRS usage, the way they did many years ago with SMS.
And this is a limited offer:
– Time Limit: It is valid only till May 15, 2010, and there’s a Fair Usage Policy (ugh) limit for these specific sites of 2GB per month.
– (Un)Fair Usage Limit: Albeit large, there is still a large “fair usage” limit a month. Then again, if you’re using up 2G a month on the low bandwidth mobile sites of these social networks, frankly, you need help (or a life).
– Still No Internet Telephony: The other thing to note is that Tata Docomo continues to block access to Internet Telephony access on Nimbuzz. Enabling free VoIP on Nimbuzz would eat into Tata DoCoMo’s voice revenues, which they wouldn’t want to risk.
– No Indian sites: Any guesses why there aren’t any Indian sites in the list? Perhaps because Indian social networks just aren’t popular enough.
As such, this is part of Tata DoCoMo’s massive sign-up drive. BuddyNet, which will cost Rs. 7 per week, offers users on the network the ability to call other BuddyNet members at 1p/6sec, STD calls at 1p/2 sec, gifting a recharge to other DoCoMo customers, and share talktime with buddies. The idea here is to create an interlinked community that benefits from being on the same network, hence increasing network utilization, at the same time, less willing to churn out since they would simultaneously lose the benefits. It’s a like a social network by itself: you’re less likely to churn out if all your friends are there.

Free VoIP to iPhone
A company I’m calling iCraw just announced a VoIP system for the iPhone that allows you to hop onto a VoIP network mid-call whenever you hit an open hotspot. It also offers free calls to the U.S. and Canada. It should be available on the Apple iPhone App store next week. Since I really enjoy T-Mobile’s Hotspot@Home UMA offerings, this sounds like a great way to save some money and get even better call quality on a non-T-Mobile phone. Here’s the feature list:
* Make and receive calls over WiFi
* Transfer inbound calls from your regular cell minutes to WiFi instantly
* Access your same address book
* Customize your voicemail options
Why is it now iCraw? Maybe if the founders could figure out mail-merge in their email application…

Yahoo Domains, How do I get to edit, build and work
There's a big difference between having a domain and having a website.
A domain is just a name, an address. A website is a place, which you build up using tools to publish text and add-ons, images, music, videos, etc.
To get a website you must have a host, like yahoo, or others on the net. And you do not need to buy a domain for it, because you get a domain name with it. But say you have a forum with another server and you want to have a personal address for that forum instead of using the servers. You then buy a domain and point it at the address your forum host gave you.
When you create your web hosting account you get all this and can log into your account to manage your web site, publish etc.
Just having a domain name does not give you the tools to do any building or publishing etc. Go to http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com or call yahoo customer support and service and set up web hosting account.

iPad costs $270.50 @piece?
The 16GB Wi-Fi-only version of the iPad costs $270.50, which means that there is about $228.50 worth of profit to be made. The main cost of the iPad is its 9.7-inch LCD display, which apparently costs $100. Even the A4 chip that powers the device is listed at just $15. With an additional $20 warranty set-aside factored in, it means that Apple’s profit margin is 42.9%, which certainly sounds very nice. via iPadBuzz
Apple iPad’s 9.7-inch touchscreen display
“The iPad’s display uses the same capacitive touchscreen technology as the iPhone and iPod Touch,” says Vinita Jakhanwal, principal analyst for iSuppli. “At the same time, it offers a better picture quality than conventional LCDs.”
After months of speculation, Apple launched its tablet, the iPad on Wednesday. The lightweight device (1.5 pounds) features a luminous touchscreen and a user interface similar to the iPhone. The iPad, which can cost $500 to $830 depending on the model, runs an expanded version of the operating system used in the iPhone.
The iPad display has some other interesting features. It is arsenic- and mecury-free and has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, which Apple had introduced in the iPhone 3G S. The iPad’s 1024 x 768 display resolution, at 132 pixels per inch, has chunkier pixels than the iPhone 3G S, which has a smaller display but a resolution of 163 pixels per inch. via iPadbuzz

3G VoIP on iPad
Apple Inc. confirmed last night that it is now allowing iPhone, iPad and iPod touch developers to build apps that can make Internet calls over a 3G cellular network. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol -- essentially, Web-based telephony.
As we reported last night, several VoiP apps have been approved for use on the iPhone, including iCall and Fring.
Skype, one of the most popular VoIP applications, said it had a 3G iPhone app ready to go, but wanted to get a couple of service details squared away. via iPadBuzz
