The mother of 8’s “catatonic” performance last night with partner Tony Dovolani kept her rooted in the bottom two for the first time on Tuesday, and eventually led to her elimination from the popular dance competition. The mother of eight appeared emotionally shook up at first and her partner came to her aid.
"I'm very proud of Kate," said Dovolani. "I know she gets a lot of criticism out there and it is difficult ... she has eight kids and she's a single mom, so I give her all the credit in the world for showing up. As exhausted as she was, she still showed up every day."
Gosselin thanked her fans for "believing in me probably more than I believed in myself" and told co-host Brooke Burke that she was "scared to death most of the time." Judge Len Goodman said that Kate will be missed because she has been one of the most talked-about competitors.
Viewers learned early on that Tampa's Erin Andrews was safe. She and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy had sailed through a jive number Monday night dressed as Uma Thurman and John Travolta from "Pulp Fiction."
