Manny Harris reinstated for MSU game

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein announced today that, following a meeting with junior guard Manny Harris and the team, Harris has been reinstated to the program. Asked about the situation during the Big Ten teleconference this morning -- before the announcement was made -- Beilein declined to address it.

Harris was suspended Friday for an unsportsmanlike act in practice, and Beilein said in a statement that Harris would meet would the coach and the team to address the situation.

Beilein did not say in the statement released Saturday before the loss at Purdue – a game Harris did not travel to, as part of his suspension – whether Harris would play Tuesday against Michigan State.

Beilein did address how the team reacted without Harris in the 10-point loss at Purdue.

“The first 10 minutes, they realized that they can be a good team and play with a lot of people, and the last 10 minutes,” Beilein said this morning. “The middle time, his presence and the timing of what we do and people trying to do different positions, when you have that type of change — a guy who you play through so much — there’s a lot of adjustments. But I was proud of the way our team reacted overall. They should be proud of themselves.”
