Ole Miss recruits skip visit because of KKK

The Ku Klux Klan’s presence on the Ole Miss campus Saturday morning caused eight potential recruits to stay at home instead of attending the Ole Miss-LSU football game, according to coach Houston Nutt. About a dozen Klan members rallied briefly in front of a crowd of approximately 250 hecklers. The Klan was protesting the school’s decision to drop “From Dixie with Love” after some fans had ended the song by saying “the South will rise again.”

Ole Miss (8-3 overall, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) has won three straight games and Nutt said recruits wouldn’t have long to decide because the Rebels have a vast selection.
