Resident Evil 5 release date on Microsoft's Press Briefing
Resident Evil 5’s producer Jun Takeuchi was up next, showing off his game in a playable state to the public for the first time. During the demo he revealed the new online co-op mode, with players controlling Chris Redfield and a new character named Sheva. During the demo, the two characters split up briefly, with Sheva fending off zombies while trying to break open a locked door so Chris could proceed. After that, they ran into a chainsaw—wielding boss, but the demo ended right at that point. The game also got a release date: March 13, 2009. That’s a Friday the 13th. Spooky.
