Hurricane Dolly thunderstorms

The National Weather Service says it’s possible that moisture from Hurricane Dolly will bring pretty clouds and thunderstorms to Orange County and the rest of Southern California early next week.Dolly is expected to make landfall along the Texas-Mexico border on inland, where it will drop heavy rain.

The storm will lose much of its energy there. But forecaster’s say Dolly’s moisture will likely flow across Mexico and curl out to sea south of Baja California, where wind patterns could bring remnants of the system into Southern California.

Orange County badly needs rain. But forecasters and fire officials also worry about thunderstorms because lightning can cause wildfires in wildland areas.
