Kelly Pavlik was behind by a big time on all scorecards at the time of the TKO, nearly suffered his first professional defeat in the second round when he was overtaken by Jermain Taylor in one of the most dramatic middleweight bouts in history.
Jermain Taylor put Kelly Pavlik on his ass in the second round. Even after getting up, Jermain Taylor continued the assault, driving back Kelly Pavlik. Kelly Pavlik kept his balance and wouldn’t wilt. Kelly Pavlik landed a straight right in the third and built the momentum until being hit by a big right from Jermain Taylor in the sixth.
