Crystal Bowersox To 'American Idol' Front-Runner ‎

Crystal Bowersox awed the judges on "American Idol" Tuesday night with a powerful take on Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" -- which was all the more poignant when she fell apart emotionally near the end.

It was the first time her dad had been in the audience, she explained. And singing without the safety net of an instrument made her seem truly vulnerable for the first time in the competition.

Crystal Bowersox, They keep putting her last because she always chooses the best songs and she is their favorite. I called it from the beginning that she would go far in this competition, and she is proving me right. She performed People Get Ready with such raw emotion that she was in tears by the end. Randy gave her a standing ovation and I got goose bumps. It was an inspiring ending to an uninspiring evening.
