Rick Lazio reveled in major momentum Tuesday as his drive for the Republican gubernatorial nomination was bolstered by the strong endorsement of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The development prompted many political observers around New York to ask how long potential GOP rival Chris Collins can watch from the sidelines. But the Erie County executive simply issued a statement wishing a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Lazio, Giuliani, Gov. David A. Paterson and Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo — all players in the race for governor.
