Gooey Geoduck

There's a lot of search engine activity surrounding geoduck, which, according to The Wall Street Journal, are served up at Marea, an Italian restaurant in New York. Geoduck, pronounced "gooey duck" for its Nisqually Indian name, are giant Pacific Northwest clams with a "long, phallic siphon," according to the paper. The dish, a take on traditional vonogle -- clams with spaghetti -- is apparently delicious. It was either the Journal article, or sports announcer Chris Collinsworth's assertion that the Chicago Bears' Soldier Field is "gooey," that spawned the searches for "gooey duck." We're betting the Journal article was mentioned somewhere on television perhaps, leading to the frenzy by people who didn't know what in the heck goeduck was.
