Tax free weekend

N.C. tax-free weekend, North Carolina will be able to avoid the tax man for the rest of the weekend – at least on some purchases at area stores. The statewide tax-free weekend began at 12:01 a.m. today and runs through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

The weekend gives shoppers, especially those looking for back-to-school items, a chance to buy items tax-free. Items eligible include clothing, sports and recreation equipment, and computers.
